What Are Young Adult Social Nights?
Young Adult Social Nights provide a space for adults to build genuine connections through shared hobbies. It’s ideal for those who want to get involved and connect with others in a low-pressure, supportive setting.
The program is centered on collaborative activities and young adult–led social engagement, helping participants build community naturally over time.
When applicable, we may bring in community experts to guide activities, or head out to a local community venue to create more opportunities for social connection while targeting everyone’s interests.
How the Program Works (10 Weeks)
The program runs for 10 weekly sessions (90 minutes each), focused on collaborative activities and social engagement.
Session 1: Building Trust
Young adults work together to vote on the activities for the term. We focus on establishing a strong foundation of trust and safety between the group and the facilitators.
Sessions 2–10: Group Activities
We have all activities and supplies ready for the night; each session features a participant-chosen theme where we engage, have fun, and continue building friendships in a semi-structured environment.
Natural Settings (Real-World Authenticity)
Activities take place in comfortable, real-world environments to support authenticity and real connection.
Who This Program Is For (Eligibility)
This program supports neurodiverse young adults who are eager to get involved in their local community and connect with like-minded peers in an affirming environment.
To ensure program efficacy and safety during community outings, participants must demonstrate:
The ability to communicate in English to facilitate social connection and community safety
The ability to navigate community-based settings and group structures independently
A readiness for reciprocal dialogue and social exchange with fellow participants
The capacity for self-advocacy regarding personal interests and environmental needs
